The name of the transmission shop was AAMCO. They did a great job on rebuilding the transmission and since they had to pull the transmission for service, they only charged me for the part price of the CV joint.

I'm not sure if this will help but I had the same type of torque steer in a 2000 Cadillac STS and it turned out to be a bad motor mount. You might want to check the motor mounts on the Pontiac just to make sure. I never figured out how motor mounts caused torque steer but it solved my problem.

Also, the steering wheel radio controls won't work on a new radio unless it is a stock replacement. (at least without some major modification, I think )
