Re: Transmission Shudder?
Thanks guys for the tips. If the PCS was completely crapped out would the scan give a low pressure reading? If I decide to try just the PSC how much should I be looking to have someone do it? I will check the mount tonight and also look at the lucus solution. Thanks! Chad

Re: Transmission Shudder?
Thanks for the reply! I just changed the fluid about 13K miles ago. It doesn't smell burnt at all before or after the change. The pan had some clutch material in it when I dropped it but that was it! I just did a pan drop and filter, no flush. Any thoughts?!? Thanks! Chad

Re: Transmission Shudder?
Well....took the bonnie into a transmission shop and they recommended a replacement. They said no codes were thrown. Does anyone have suggestions outside of replacing the transmission? Would a product like lubeguard be something to try? Thank you all for the input!

Transmission Shudder?
Hello everyone! I have a 98 Bonneville that has been acting up more in the last 18 months. When mashing the pedal from a stop I get an awful shudder from the car. Letting off the pedal and rolling back onto it alleviates the problem. I am usually very gentle with my car but my wife's spirited ...

o2 sensor: Denso or AC Delco/ Wheel bearing recs
Hello all. I am in need of an o2 sensor I am looking at either of these.
Denso: Part # 2344018
AC Delco: Part # AFS109
Are these the right parts numbers? The Denso is a little cheaper so I was just planning on going that route unless someone felt differently about them.
Also I will be ordering ...

Re: Probable PCS problems, help on what to do!
Thought I would post an update to my situation. I completed the shift kit install this morning. Took about 1.5 hours. That included setup and cleanup. Not too bad. Took it for a test run and the shifting does seem a bit firmer with less slip. Now it is just a matter of putting some miles on to see ...

Re: Probable PCS problems, help on what to do!
Thanks Lesebre! That writeup is good and I plan on using it when I install mine. Did you notice a snug fit with the red spring in the plain? Is this a big deal?

Re: Probable PCS problems, help on what to do!
I got my TransGo kit in yesterday and plan on installing in the next week or two. I had a quick question regarding the kit. The TransGo kit has a plain, red, and white spring with two spacers (.530" and .750") for the 2-3 accumulator and a plain, white and one spacer ( .750") for the 1-2 accumulator ...

Re: Probable PCS problems, help on what to do!
Was reading more of your posts Buffalo and see you are now replacing the PCS. I am just trying to understand the situation with the shift kit. I was thinking it basically bypassed the PCS by shifting quicker and not allowing long shift times. So why would it need to be replaced. Thanks!

Re: Probable PCS problems, help on what to do!
Thanks Buffalo! I did a search for the install thread and I am not finding it. Any ideas? I just ordered the transgo kit and will be installing it when it arrives. Thanks!

Probable PCS problems, help on what to do!
Hello everyone! I have a 1998 Bonneville SE. About 5 months ago I replaced my trans filter and fluid and adding Sea Foam prior to the pan drop. I have had the hard 2-3 shifts occasionally and had a PCS code come up the last time it was at the dealer. The last several months the hard shifts have seem ...

Re: Steps for '98 SE radiator replacement.
Should I get the 195 or 180 degree thermostat? Any pros or cons to either? Thanks again! Sorry, I keep coming up with another question!

Re: Steps for '98 SE radiator replacement.
Thanks! Couple of quick questions. I was looking again at Bill's explanation of coolant refilling. Will I need to get to the thermostat to refill the coolant since I am only replacing the radiator and not messing with the engine itself? If so, is the gasket for the thermostat cover reusable? Thanks ...

Re: Steps for '98 SE radiator replacement.
It is actually just the conventional stuff (green I think?!) I had the UIM, LIM, plenum replaced about 1.5 years ago and they replaced the thermostat and dexcool with the regular stuff.
