Re: Building FWI. Will be done Wed. Maybe Dyno
A cheap way to connect the pipe to the TB is to get a rubber sleave from the plumbing supply section and fit it over the tb then use clamps to help hold it in place. I fit about half of it on the tb then used a screw driver to help fit it on.

Re: L36 Mods and MPG
One of the bigest changes that you can make is tuning the PCM but a lot if it is adjusting the shift dettings and TCC locking speeds. That will make the most difference if you do more low speed driving, if you get on the highway right away it will not make much difference. For hw driving increasing ...

Re: Replaced radio no Climate control
I tried to trace the circuit in the stock HU with no success as the trace flips from one side of the PCB. I looks like the wire runs to a capacitor but it is hard to tell since there are 3 traces that go under the capacitor and i cant see under it.

Re: transmission fluid
If the trans filter was not replaced I would have that done. If it has been changed you can get a cheap fluid transfer pump and pull out some trans fluid probably up to a gallon, then replace with new fluid.

Re: Replaced radio no Climate control
Just to note I do not have a PAC unit for it yet.
Also I took some measurements of the wire in question.
Radio not connected:
5.6v Ignition off
4.4v Ignition run
4.8v Engine running
Stock radio connected:
7.25v Ignition off/run
8.6v Engine running fans on

Replaced radio no Climate control
This is on my 98 SSE Bonneville with the Bose amplifier and automatic HVAC.
I just replaced the factory radio with a new pioneer headunit I have the wiring kit and hooked all that up and added a connector for the remote turn on so the bose amp works to power the speakers.

Re: '97 bonnie overheating
The S3 LIM is exactly the same, the UIM will need a nipple tapped in to the neck for the vac lines the opening on the side will need to be tapped and plugged and you will need to modify a TB adapter for the TB to fit. Its not hard to do. Almost for got there is a little tab on the back side that ...

Re: Not your average hood vents on an SE, contemplating (upd
Have you thought about installing the vents in the fender behind and above the wheel? Since the vents are plastic it could be possible to heat them and mold them to the contour of the fenders. I thought about this when I had my 93 Bonneville and the air went out but I was going to duct the vent in ...

You could take the time and build them for the headlights. I believe that the fog lights from a GP will work with out issue and they do have angel eyes for that.
Re: 30.5 MPG?
My 98 is getting ~28 on average mostly highway and is stock for the most part I believe it still has the original O2 sensor I should replace that.

Re: My unfinished mod list for my 99 SE
If you have access to good wire for cheap I do not see why you would not upgrade the alt wire especially if the wire that it is currently using is 12 years old. The alternator will not have to work as hard to charge the battery that could increase the MPGs a little but could only be noticeable if ...

Alarm Horn and car un-locking its self
About two weeks ago I changed my spark plugs and wires and it just happens that the fob battery died (only one I have)when doing this because it no longer locks or unlocks the car. Luckily the car was unlocked so I did not have to deal with the alarm going off.

I do not have any pics with me buy it is easy remove the air box just to the right is the PCM cover remove the top of that now to the right there is a white connector disconnect that. I would get the sensor from a junk yard and try that, it might help if you just clean the sensor that you have now just make sure that it is completely dry before starting it back up. Pull the hose connected to the Fuel Pressure Regulator and see if it smells like gas.

If you just removed the screen the MAF will see a different flow of air and will give different results compared to with it in so you will need to retune the MAF table to correct the values for what it is not showing, or replace the screen.

Re: Decent gas mileage?
You should be getting 22mpg avg with out trying or less if you try, but you should see about 25-27mpg on the highway. That is the millage i was getting on my 93 Bonneville, 93 LeSaber, 2000 & 2003 grandprix. On my new 98 Bonneville I am getting 24mpg avg look at my signature. Inflate your tires ...

Update:
Today the Torque axis mount arrived and I promptly replaced it. The old one was not destroyed but it was close I could wiggle the rubber in the mount easily and it was deformed in a few places like it was being side loaded.
