Re: Bonneville GXP longevity questions
I had enough with the bonne and have had my eye on this for a while. I am looking for a beater now so I don't put to many miles on her.
I will get more pics up soon.

Re: Overheated. Replaced thermostat - how to bleed (GXP)
Quite easy actually. Remove the bolts/nuts holding the pulley guard in place. Then remove the two bolts holding the idler pulley in place. Removing the idler assembly is the easiest way to do it. However, you can get the belt off without doing this; it just takes a little twisting and yelling. lol ...

Re: Overheated. Replaced thermostat - how to bleed (GXP)
If it is what I suggested than it is easy to replce. The waterpump on the other hand is a completely different story.

The waterpump has a belt of its own. You may have lost that belt or the idler pulley.

Re: Your Bonneville Experience
I will tell you from experience that the N* is no fun to work on but, man, I enjoyed every busted knuckle, cut, scrape and bruise. The GXP is a very nice car but I would stay away from anything that is close to 100k.
However, the one you posted above seems to have been very well maintained. It ...

I replaced the pads on the GXP three times in 190k miles, with Duralast Gold ceramic pads. Oh, and I only replaced the rotors once.

Re: Running rough on initial start
You might have a coil going out. How is the car under load? Take it out and do a quick WOT. If a coil is going bad the SES may flicker and the engine may stumble a little.
Another thing to try would be a bottle of Techron on your next fill up.

Re: Clunking noise
Did you repalce the upper shock mounts? These will cause the clunk as well.
