Voltage drop
This seem to be a random thing but I'll be driving and I'll notice that the voltage meter begins to drop. Where it is more noticeable is when I come to a full stop and have to turn my blinker on, the meter drops more and the blinker actually slows down. I've recently had the battery changed and had ...

Re: VATS by-pass
I removed the by-pass and tested it and the numbers are where they need to be. I did notice there were a couple of strands of wire exposed from the VATs so I made some corrections and it has started with no problems. If I have future problems I'll go ahead and replace the resistors. Thanks for all ...

VATS by-pass
I by-passed by VATS about 1 year ago and was having great luck until recently. About every other day my car will not start on the initial try. The security light comes on and then I'll wait for 3 minutes until it goes out and the car will crank without a problem. Any ideas as to what is going on and ...

Re: Engine failure but electrial remains/security light
Update and new problem: I cleaned up the fuse connections by the driver's side door (under the carpet) and also cut back the insulation on the battery terminal and cleaned it up. This appears to have cleared up all of my stalling problems; however, just recently I'm getting a "security" light issue ...

Re: Engine failure but electrial remains
I'll do that. Thanks for the advise. It's nerve racking driving the car never knowing when it will decide to shut down.

Re: Engine failure but electrial remains
No check engine lights coming on. I had a mechanic scan for codes and he said he got one that he reset. He didn't think that was the issue. When he had it out running on a test drive it did not act up for him.

Engine failure but electrial remains
My issue is that my 99 Bonneville will be running fine and then without warning the engine shuts off. I've been traveling down the interstate, stopped at lights, it's totally random when it happens. The radio, lights, and all electrical remains on its just the engine that shuts off. I usually have ...
