Yes the smoke is very thick and white upon start up so without a doubt it is above and beyond the normal amount of condensation. Also the check engine light does flash for at the most of 20 seconds and then goes back to being solid.

I never really thought about the slide pins. I replaced the rotors and pads little bit ago and I know I re-greased the slide pins front and rear but it wouldn't hurt to bleed the system and re grease the pins before I bought new calipers.
