Re: Birth of a Bonneville

Thank you for sharing this. That was pretty cool. So Wentzville, MO (?) is where my 1990 Bonneville was born?
almost certain Wentzville MO is where your 1990 was assembled, you can confirm based on 11th digit of VIN, '1' is the 'plant code' for Wentzville.
I believe with the introduction of the ...

Birth of a Bonneville

Over 100 photos from inside the assembly plant, watch as a couple of firewall stampings are the beginning of what will become a finished vehicle in less than 7 minutes.
In November 1992, after placing an order for a brand new Bonneville, journalist John Baeke was invited to visit Wentzville and ...

Re: 34mm sway bar upgrade?

so you are certain the front bar you pulled off the deville was a stock factory sway bar, there was some sort of tag or stamp on the bar that confirms it's a GM part? There's no chance you happened to find a car that had an aftermarket or custom sway bar previously installed?

Re: 34mm sway bar upgrade?

1985-1993 Deville.
I've had no luck finding any over the years as they all seem to be 30mm or 32mm.
so I take it that the 34mm front sway bar on the 85-93 deville was not the standard equipment, it was a low volume option? any more specifics on what to look for, do I have to get under each one I ...

Compnine VIN decoder site back up!

recently I noticed the COMPNINE site is back up, I think this was very popular when it was previously available about a year ago. It gives you the RPO's for a specific VIN, and the "popularity" of each RPO

Re: fall/winter visits to pick-a-part

all I can say is well done !!!

the place I like to go to has a fairly comprehensive price list, but now that I'm looking for it, I notice they don't list a price for alloy wheels, I'll have to ask the next time I'm out there

thanks, appreciate the comments, yes I'm very happy with the way it turned out, it was just over 2 years ago that I first learned about the existance of this poster, it took me a year to pry it away from the GM employee that had it, I think the main reason he finally passed it over to me, was that I ...
