Re: 2005 Grand Prix Trans Issue (4T65-HD)

Thanks for the replies! It doesn't rev or slip before it goes into gear, just a big thud and off she goes. I have pulled the max adapt/long shift code before which is one of the reasons I installed the shift kit.

The delayed engagement described in that link sounds exactly like what I'm ...

2005 Grand Prix Trans Issue (4T65-HD)

It's been years since I've posted here but this place seems more active then any Grand Prix forums and the Bonneville guys were always more knowledgeable anyways sooooo...(and just so you know I had an 89 Bonneville SSE and 96 Bonneville SSEi before I switched to Grand Prixs, and I only did because ...

Re: Most bizarre problem ever...perhaps electrical?

Thanks for the suggestions. The PCM is exposed, it used to be part of the airbox assembly but I have a FWI installed. This problem happened just like it did before I removed from the airbox, so that isn't the problem.

I will try wrapping it something...that is a good idea. Are PCM's typically ...

Most bizarre problem ever...perhaps electrical?

Hey everyone, it's been a long time, but I've been caught up in school and stuff. I know this is for a Grand Prix but I can't get decent help anywhere but here...

Symptom: On a cold start, car will be hesitant between 1-2.5k rpms (feels kinda like a misfire), and the 1-2 gear shift seems to come ...

Re: Finally the snow is gone!

Looking good, When the new GP's first came out, I wasn't crazy about them, but Im liking them more and more. This helps a lot. What is the badge on the side though? The only badges i've seen on the side are GXPs

Comp G for competition group. Basically a performance package for the Grand Prix ...

Finally the snow is gone!

Well, almost. Nothing is alive here yet, and we are expieriencing some extreme flooding as well. Nothing much around to park the car in front of, but here are the first shots of the year.

Re: I am SO frustrated. But will never learn...

Oh they aren't real Police officers...they are "peace" officers. I don't think they have much more authority then to take a picture. They don't have to do anything when they are in the car either. Half the time I see them sleeping, reading a newspaper, or talking on thier cell phones. Hell of a job ...

I am SO frustrated. But will never learn...

These really hurt the funding for all my hobbies. First one was stationary, I know it is there, and I have driven throgh it a thousand times in my life, but I ALWAYS had thought the speed limit on that paticular street was 60 km/h, not 50. I don't know how it took so long. Second one was a mobile ...

Re: 17" 10 Spoke GP Alloys...

Thanks for all the positive comments. I can't wait to get them on - still a lot of snow here though and I don't want to jump the gun and put them on too early. I've also tinted the windows down to 20% since my sig picture and the car looks badass. This is going to top it off nicely.

The GP is ...

Re: 17" 10 Spoke GP Alloys...

I wanted to powdercoat (for the durability thing) but they are painted. There are no places around here that powdercoat car wheels. If you want it done, you have to dismount the rubber, prep the wheel, and bring them in yourself to places that just do industrial powdercoating. The place I had this ...

17" 10 Spoke GP Alloys...

I'm not sure how you guys feel about black wheels here but I just got my summer tires back from a local shop. This is what I had them do - I think it turned out very well. It should look really sharp with the chrome lugs holding them on, and the rotor and red caliper behind.

Oh ok, cool. If that is as bright as it gets, that'll be fine.

This is what my kit looks like:

Dimmer lighting question

Hey,

I am installing my aftermarket deck in the GP and I have ordered a customer dash kit from humount.com that has text that will be illuminated with a LED bar. I was just wondering how to wire up the LED so that it comes on with my dash lights, and can be adjusted with the dimmer knob? If I ...

Re: Aftermarket HU in Grand Prix

If anyone wants to know, after mass amounts of research and phone calls, the Monsoon system is built on the same platform as Bose, and therefore uses the same harnesses. The best one available (after mass data collecting) is the PAC OS-2BOSE. It retains On-Star, the factory Monsoon amp, chimes, and ...

Aftermarket HU in Grand Prix

Hi yall,

I've been wanting to re-install my aftermarket head unit in to my 2005 Grand Prix, but I am having difficulty figuring out exactly what I need for the install. The help on all the Grand Prix forums are sub-par, and quite frankly, not nearly as intelligent as the help from members on this ...

Suprisingly enough my factory AC Delco was still in my '96 the day I got rid of it. I was running amps and subs off that sucker too, and I never had a problem with it.

Re: How to fix surging, missing, misfires, etc on a 88-91 car

I used to drive an '89 SSE. This was the first mod I did. Prior to the swap the thing would crank for 20 seconds before starting if it were cold or raining out. After the swap it started instantaneously every time. Worked amazingly well.

Re: Grinding continues...

Try having someone (you trust) powerbrake the car with the hood popped. You might be able to see what is making the sound, or at least find out where it is coming from when the engine is in a heavy torque situation. I did this once to find out my engine was rocking back far enough for a pulley to ...
