Re: How is your shift cable routed? (2000-2005 3800 V6)

I found this picture on Google Images. Interesting how they have the shift cable routed-- right over the top of the MAF sensor. I tried doing that with mine, but it still pushes up on the engine cover. But then again, mine has that rubber sheath that goes over the shift cable. That thing adds a lot ...

Re: How is your shift cable routed? (2000-2005 3800 V6)

OK, I disconnected the fuel pipes. All you do is squeeze the little tabs and pull up on the elbow. I think the shift cable wants to sit in that little valley on the end of the upper intake manifold where one of the fuel pipes come across to go to the front of the fuel rail. The only stipulation is ...

Re: How is your shift cable routed? (2000-2005 3800 V6)

I think I got it figured out. The shift cable needs to go underneath the plastic fuel pipes that are clipped to the EGR guard. I hate messing with those fuel pipes because they're delicate and I have no immediate way to repair them.

Interesting. Those pictures are showing the cable going across the top of the throttle body.

Re: How is your shift cable routed? (2000-2005 3800 V6)

You guys got any pictures of how yours is routed? I wish I could find a picture of a brand new Buick engine bay, but they all show the engine cover installed. It looks like I need to figure out how to disconnect the cable from the transmission.

How is your shift cable routed? (2000-2005 3800 V6)

Mine presses up on the engine cover if I try to put the engine cover over it. I probably misrouted it when I replaced the intake manifold gaskets. Is yours routed under the throttle body?

Strange Drivability Issue

2000-2005 Buick LeSabre

I'll be driving along and all of a sudden out of the blue, the engine will shut down for a split second and then resume operations like nothing happened. It feels like the engine locks up solid and the car hits a brick wall. This happens about once a week. No codes stored at ...

Steel Braided Front Brake Hoses

Do they exist for a 2000-2005 Bonneville? I'm thinking if they do, they might fit my 2000 LeSabre. I heard you can get a firmer brake pedal with steel braided brake hoses. They say they work by preventing the rubber hoses from expanding when you press the pedal.

When I had a flashing P0300, it was the ICM. The coil pack for 2 and 4 was not being activated by the ICM.

I can post the step-by-step instructions if you still need them. I have a 2000 Buick LeSabre factory service manual.
