Re: Women drivers....FML
I read a piece recently comparing accidents of men vs. women. They found that men are in more fatal and high-speed accidents because they do more driving on highways, but they found women drivers much worse than men for low speed collisions and fender-benders.

Re: Nearest miss ever.
Two weeks after getting my license I was almost nailed by an SUV cresting a hill and running the stop sign at the top. I didn't even see it till the driver hit the horn. I guess he didn't think he had a stop sign. Scared the hell out of me though. I would have taken that impact on the driver's door ...

Re: Bought a new car.. saying good-bye to the Bonneville
I hope you can still find them in 2 years! GT's are getting rare in these parts. That's half the reason I jumped on this one.

Re: Bought a new car.. saying good-bye to the Bonneville
The 00+ was the 9th generation Bonneville, IIRC.
Nice choice of car! If you want it to really sound like a V8, I recommend an intake and an axleback exhaust. I've got the SLP Blackwing FWI and the SOLO axlebacks with j-pipes. They delete the huge rear mufflers, but have Helmholtz resonators. The ...

Re: Bought a new car.. saying good-bye to the Bonneville
<<<<<<<< JEALOUS!!!
Nice ride!! I do agree that it feels way smaller than it is. My ONLY caveat with the G8 is view around the A-pillars, but that's just something to get used to.
Indeed, that's one thing I noticed right away. Visibility is more limited than the Bonneville. I guess just with ...

Re: Bought a new car.. saying good-bye to the Bonneville
AWESOME!!
I've been following G8 prices here a lot lately, in preparation for getting one myself (though I haven't ruled out a GTO). How much did this set you back if you don't mind me asking?
Came to $23,000 before all the other fees. There was one in Niagara with 10,000km on it going for $30 ...

Bought a new car.. saying good-bye to the Bonneville
In August 09 I bought my first car, the 1996 SLE in my sig below. I love the Bonneville, and I think as a first car it certainly set the standard for comfort, performance, and features that I have to have in any future car I own. I've been trying to find a newer SSEi for the last little while ...

Re: Clunk when accelerating and turning
I could live with the clunk if I new what the heck it was (15 year old car after all).. not knowing annoys me. I don't like the thought of Impending Catastrophic Failure of Doom.

Clunk when accelerating and turning
Ok, I have this strange problem that's developed over the last month or so (as the weather has gotten colder).
I get a clunk coming from the front end when accelerating and turning. Here's the details:
-Car is a 1996 SE with 172,000 Km.
-I can usually feel the clunk through the pedal, and ...

Re: Another idiot on the road
When I was visiting my brother last week, he's a Police officer, he told me about an incident his partner had when driving his private vehicle after work.
A driver in front of him was driving too slow and the off duty policeman had his daughter in the car who was late for a practice, so he was ...

Re: Another idiot on the road
When I was younger and more invulverable I would get in front of them and ram my brakes on to make them slam theirs on but now with anti lock brakes that doesn't work too well.
Yea, not really a good idea. Another guy I know did that and caused a 4 car pileup when the guy he did it to ...

Re: 40th question
Given that the only way to get the L67 on an SE was with the SLE option package, and SLE packages made up ~10% of SE production... I'd think a S/C 40th SE would be extremely rare. Not all SLE's had the L67, either. I don't know if it was an option or standard on the 40th SLE.

Re: which one is better gtp or regal gs
Considering how hard it is to find Bonnevilles in good shape around here (that you're aren't getting totally pirated for) I'm also considering a GS. I don't think it looks anything special whatsoever.. but then again a simple unsuspecting car is fun...

This winter was NOT nice to my bonnie... last fall, practically zero rust anywhere.. now I have a bunch. Barrie uses WAY too much salt.
