Re: Preferred Generation Bonneville? And Why?

I'd have to say 88-91 style would be my favorite. Highway cruising in those leather seats is like sitting on a cloud. I've driven an 88 LE, my 91 SSE, a 97 SE and my 2000 SSEI. They each have there own qualities, but to me nothing beats the ride and comfort of a well taken care of 91 SSE, however I ...

Re: WEll guys.. Someone offered to buy the Bonneville from m

IMHO $6500 or for that matter $6000 seems very steep for a car with that many miles and having been modded.. You will only get what someone is willing to pay for the car, that could be $7,000 or it could be $2,000. Cars are the worst investments going, you put all this money into them and the ...

Re: my 1990 pontiac bonneville sse

Pictures would help, it depends on condition and like every one is saying "what someone is willing to pay" is what you can get. What kind of headaches are you talking about? Has she been driven in the winter.? In my area the 88-91 SSE's are few and far between, since owning mine i've seen 1 in 5 ...

Re: P0171 i just cant find the problem

Probably. It's expensive.

that MAF figure looks low for 2500 RPM. Try unplugging it to see if your LTFT's improve.

While the sensor is unplugged take it for a little spin and see if the car runs better with the MAF sensor unplugged... Your fuel trims will still be wacky with the sensor ...

Re: P0171 i just cant find the problem

does the car have any other symptoms, bucking, stalling, loss of power.. I had the same code, and the same LTFT, but my car also had the other symptoms.... I changed the mass Airflow sensor and things went back to normal, no lean code and fuel trims were good... Just my 2 cents... If u have another ...

Re: power-log

I'm a little afraid of resetting the fuel trims because I've heard in most cases there KR goes up even more... I have thought about doing it tho, but i'll let it go for a while and see what happens... Without the resonator i think the car sounds great especially on first startup, it has a nice ...

Re: power-log

We'll i just sprayed it quick with parts cleaner and on she went... :-$ it was sort of a pain removing two heat shields to get to the bolts, other than that it went on without taking any studs out, i did however have to remove the spark plugs to maneuver the p-log in there... went for a test drive ...

Re: '88 Bonneville won't start (more info inside)

It could be a faulty crank sensor, Cam sensor or a bad Ignition Control module, if the crank sensor is faulty or has a bad ground then it will not send a signal to the PCM to fire the cylinders (crank but no spark condition) the cam sensor is also linked to controlling spark and fuel.

Re: Gas mileage

In my 2000 SSEI the highest gas mileage I've seen is 18.2 according the DIC. This is 80 to 90 percent short trip city driving.. IIRC last time i checked it on the aeroforce it said 13 or 14 MPG  And i'm not that heavy in the throttle, every once in a while there might be a WOT

She looks pretty clean, and I'll have to agree with the SSEI taillights.. makes the car look more sporty in the rear...
