Re: 98 Park Ave Misfire

I checked the resistance on the injectors and they were within spec. I also listened to the injectors while the car ran and they sounded like they were firing correctly. Because of that I didn't swap injectors. Instead, I did a compression test on the front cylinder head. I got 130psi on #1, 90psi ...

98 Park Ave Misfire

Hi all,

Back at the end of January I bought a 1998 Park Ave with only 51,000 miles on it. The car was owned by an older lady in South Seattle who only drove it to church on Sundays and occasionally to the grocery store. At first I thought I got the deal of the century but now I'm having a serious ...

Re: No power to aftermarket stereo in 00 SSEi

I've got some more information about why the speakers are not making any sound. After a bunch more research I found out that the PAC interface I bought doesn't have a wire going to the amp turn-on slot on the dock connector. That explains why the amp isn't turning on and producing sound. If anyone ...

Re: No power to aftermarket stereo in 00 SSEi

I've made some progress during the week. I had the power wires totally wrong. The PAC interface/harness provides power through the red and yellow wires coming from it. Those connect directly to the red and yellow wires for the stereo harness. Figuring that out got me power to the head unit. Now ...

No power to aftermarket stereo in 00 SSEi

Hi all,

I spent all of today fruitlessly working on my wife's 00 SSEi. Most of the day was taken up with trying to install a new stereo in the car. I bought at Kenwood Excelon DPX793BH with a Volkswagen antenna adapter, a PAC RP3-GM13 Dock & Lock interface and wiring harness, and an Axxess ASWC-1 ...

My Wife's New Love

Hi everybody!

I haven't done anything with my Bonneville since I put in the new passenger window regulator and the new parking brake in May. It has been driving beautifully and I have been enjoying carving up the traffic in my Bonnie. Today, however, I let my wife drive it into Seattle. She had ...

Re: 2000 SSEi Parking Brake Pedal Problem

I got the new parking brake pedal assembly from Andrew last week and put it in. Now the parking brake works perfectly. The problem with the old assembly was that the spring that causes the ratcheting pawl to retract and release the pedal was missing. One little, tiny spring was the reason the ...

Re: Passenger window jamming when going up

It's nice that you posted back with the results. It always helps others when you do that.
Just so you're aware, the black goo on the door liner needs to be resealed to the liner and the door after you do anything inside the door.
If you don't reseal it, then water leaks into the car and soaks the ...

Re: Greetings from Washington State

Was that the white Bonneville for sale up in Skagit County? I saw it on Craigslist. In any event, how do you like it?

Yeah, that was the one. It's been great, other than the MAF sensor everything was in perfect shape when I got it and that was a quick fix. It's one of my favorite cars I've ever ...

Re: Passenger window jamming when going up

Hi everyone!

I put the new regulator assembly in the car today which allowed me to take a look at the old one. The plastic trolley that rides on the regulator track was broken on the inside which is why it was going up crooked. With the replacement regulator from Andrew the window operates properly ...

Re: Passenger window jamming when going up

According to the last video, your window regulator is shot. It shouldn't have that much slop in it. I have good ones if you need another.

That was my suspicion once I saw it wiggling around but I don't have any experience with this style of regulator so I didn't want to diagnose it as such ...

Re: Passenger window jamming when going up

I started out with the easy things like checking the window being in the front and rear tracks. It's in the tracks and I couldn't find any obstructions in either track that should cause it to bind up. I also sprayed a little bit of lube in each track but that didn't seem to help any. The bolts that ...

Passenger window jamming when going up

Hello everyone,

I'm finding more little issues with my 2000 SSEi as I drive it. I've discovered that the front passenger window jams going up. It goes down just fine but when I put it up it wants to tip forward and jam in the track. If I grab the window glass at the top and pull it toward the rear ...

Re: Hello Fellow Bonneville Owners

Polish those headlights up and it will really look nice. Faded headlights can date the car and take away from how nice it can look :)

That's one of my next projects. I really don't like the yellowed, faded headlights so I'll be polishing those up sometime in the next couple of days. The car could ...

Re: Hello Fellow Bonneville Owners

The LeSabre didn't have a supercharger. The Bonneville I bought does. The LeSabre was a very solid ride but never had the kind of acceleration that a supercharger affords.

Hello Fellow Bonneville Owners

Hello everyone!

A couple weeks ago I bought a 2000 Bonneville SSEi. It's got about 157,000 miles on it and I paid $3000 for it. I bought it from a former GM Master Tech who lives a couple miles from my home. He had gone through the car and done quite a bit of maintenance and repair work on it. It ...

Re: 2000 SSEi Parking Brake Pedal Problem

Thank you all for the helpful responses. I'm going to remove the parking brake pedal assembly from the car today and take a closer look at it. That way I'll be prepared to install a replacement once I get one.
