Bumping after quite a bit of time... lots has been going on.
Very long story short, the transmission developed a massive leak. Thought it might be relatively minor so I took it to a local shop I have used quite a bit in the past for diagnosis with the instructions if it was relatively minor to ...

Re: Wagon lament
I wouldn't mind a E39 wagon:
Too bad they didn't do the M5 wagon here.
I'd rock an E39 Touring, although it's a little frustrating they didn't come out of the factory with the V8 and 6-speed manual. The M5 would be awesome, but after keeping my E34 on the road for a few years I'd balk if ...

Now a transmission leak?
Unfortunately the SSEi is down for the moment due to a couple of issues. I've got my other car so I can take some time on it but things have definitely taken a turn for the worse for the 'ol beast in the past couple of weeks.
Last weekend, I noticed that the car started leaking very badly. Upon ...

Re: What plugs do I need with these mods?
You'd probably want to try Autolite 104's or NGK TR7's, and pull a couple after 1,000 miles and make sure they're not too cold. If you don't know how to read plugs, you can post up some pics and we can tell you if you should keep them or jump one step hotter.

Thanks once again! Your responses have been an immense help to this newbie! :beerchug:
I went for middle of the road and plug longevity; I know these cars don't like Iridium plugs if they're pushing past stock levels but I came across posts elsewhere that highly recommended AC Delco 41-919s so I ...

What plugs do I need with these mods?
Apologies in advance if this seems like a bit of a noobish question.
The '02 SSEi I just bought has seen some mods from the previous owner. He mentioned that someone who used to work at ZZP did a lot of the work so I'm pretty sure everything's correct. However, I'm going to be replacing the coolant ...

Re: Plenty of questions about the new SSEi...
I went with this for the oil pressure sender:

Still going after 2ish years, despite being the cheapest option at the time.

Re: Plenty of questions about the new SSEi...
+1 above. I thought that balanced wheels/tires would be the end of it? Otherwise that sounds like some design flaw in the chassis that would be cropping up in other cars on this platform? I wouldn't think that the Bonneville's front suspension would be that different than the other G-body cars ...

Re: Plenty of questions about the new SSEi...
Get a used good windshield wiper module from Harofreak00, and then seal it up when you get it. Definitely cheaper than new. I think you just need to remove the plastic cowl piece to access the module.

Plenty of questions about the new SSEi...
Well, got my new beast home yesterday, although the trip was anything but smooth. While the car has good bones and I picked her up for a very good price, there are definitely... issues. I'd like to hammer them out fairly quickly, as this is going to be my driver throughout the winter, or at least ...

Re: Stock iPod integration possible?
The 3 connectors are for the aux audio input. You need to have a radio with a "Mode" button to get the aux input to work. They will allow you to connect to the headphone jack on the Ipod so you can play music through the stock system but you will still have to control the playlist from the iPod ...

Stock iPod integration possible?
Well, I'm driving myself kinda nuts with figuring out the audio sitch for my car. I do have an aftermarket deck in my BMW at the moment with the whole iPod integration, Bluetooth, and the whole nine yards. I mainly use it with an older iPod Touch that is pretty much stuffed with music.
The problem ...

Re: Some general rear suspension questions?
And again, thanks! I'm pretty pleasantly surprised with how inexpensive these shocks are. I'll know more about the state of the system once I get the car home and start to tinker with things. Mainly, I'll be asking a bunch of questions to get my ducks in a row before starting with the purchasing and ...

Some general rear suspension questions?
Hey there. Pretty new to the forums, but I'm bringing home my new '02 SSEi this weekend.
On the test drive I noticed the car was squirming around at the rear and there was a noticeable 'clunk' on hard acceleration. Needless to say one of the first things I'm doing is the rear suspension.

Welcome!
Price wise you did great given what mods she has on her. You could easily part those out for spare cash, if you ever desired to do so.
If you ever need parts, PM Harofreak00. He's our resident parts guy.
All the problems you mentioned are common and easy fixes. Check out the sticky in ...
