Re: Genuine Radiator Vs. O.E Aftermarket: H-body

I will check out the overflow line and probably replace it since its getting crumbly (Maybe it collapsed inside) As for the leaking Cap, the cap is fully tightened and fits snuggly, but it seems to leak. 3 Rads later and the same issue. Maybe I'm just having bad luck haha (I've never had an issue ...

Re: Our '99 Bonneville (Granny)

Here is a link to a currant question thread about Genuine Vs. O.E Aftermarket Radiators. Been trying to solve this issue for a while lol.

Other than that, the Bonne is going strong. No more oil leaking from the Intake is a nice thing. Just flipped to 171,000 last week!

Genuine Radiator Vs. O.E Aftermarket: H-body

Alright, I've been having an issue with radiators lately (Even a full Aluminum rad) The radiator seems to leak from the Cap flange (Even with a new Genuine Cap) I've noticed with it at running temp if gently wiggle the cap, coolant spews out. I've deducted that the flanges leak because on any/all ...

Re: Our '99 Bonneville (Granny)

After a week everything seems to be holding real good, no leaks that I can see, and no more oil entering the coolant system (There are still a few drops of residual floating around even though I flushed the block and rad)

Anyway, was pretty shocked when I removed the Upper Intake and the Valve ...

Re: Our '99 Bonneville (Granny)

Well there doesn't seem to be any torque sequence for the upper intake in the FSM, but it does say 22ft.lbs on those bolts. 88 In.lbs on the Lower intake and Valve covers (Which seems a bit much for plastic valve covers with grommets)

Doubled checked and I should have everything needed for the job ...

Re: Our '99 Bonneville (Granny)

Update: Upper and Lower Intake gaskets.

So I am getting ready to replace the upper and lower intake gaskets along with Valve cover seals, as I've noticed a decent amount of Oil in the radiator.

So far I have a new Dorman Upper Intake assembly (Comes with plenum gasket, Throttle assembly seal ...

Re: Our '99 Bonneville (Granny)

So since I haven't been to a junkyard yet to take a gander, Do all H-body SSEis have larger sway-bars (F/R) than any SE? Also, are they routed the same? I think the next step for this car is definitely larger sways.

I still need to get under the car and see what size is on it now.

Re: Our '99 Bonneville (Granny)

Finally got off the winter tires and put on some 18x8 Rial Leichtmetallfelgen P10 wrapped in 235/45/18 General G-Max AS-03. Rides pretty good, less sidewall scrub and better steering response. Pretty happy with the result!

Re: Our '99 Bonneville (Granny)

No the intake gasket leaks pretty good, nice pools of oil sit in the Manifold and Head castings. Been wanting to change it out, but I really don't want to pull the Fuel rail off to do it. I hate getting Injectors reseated haha. Maybe I'll get to it before the motor bursts into flames :p

Re: Our '99 Bonneville (Granny)

Sunday I went out to get in the car and noticed a 16" diameter puddle under the front passenger side; which turned out to be coolant. So I jacked up and and noticed the coolant was leaking from above the power steering reservoir, Grabbed a flashlight and looked at the lower coolant bypass elbow and ...

Re: Our '99 Bonneville (Granny)

Just wanted to test the waters. Would there be any interest if this car came up for sale? I'm thinking price would be $4,500obo. As you can see thru the thread, I've put a lot of time into the car. Its turn key and go, needs nothing (Except for some summer rubber)

We have been tossing the idea back ...

Re: Our '99 Bonneville (Granny)

Just a little update. Been getting snow for the past few weeks, gotta say the new General snows are doing a good job. This car has always been good in snow, but the snow tires add a little more sure footedness. Tires don't seem to be showing any sign of wear as of yet either, Good medium compound ...

Re: Our '99 Bonneville (Granny)

Been giving it some thought (Waiting for W2 and my Tax return) but probably gonna go with the BBS wheels. My girl wanted something in gunmetal and these should look decent on the car, without standing out too much.

Also, I had another thread going with a running fluke I've been having. I fixed it a ...

Re: Anyone had their Bonne stall on them while moving?

I checked the ICM connecter last night. Connection is clean and all the prongs are snug. Today I installed a new FPR (BWD 23045P) and haven't noticed any further issues yet. Fires up nice and smooth.

I may get some MAF cleaner or Brake cleaner (Non-Chlorinated) and clean the IAC and possibly the ...
