Re: Severe engine shake, but only when...

Sorry for the super late post. Since I last was on here I've graduated from college :bouncingsmiles: and have been very busy. I just want to provide an update for anyone having the same engine issues as me.

Anyway, I ended up swapping all of the coils and that completely solved my issues. A few of ...

Re: Severe engine shake, but only when...

We did also replace the catalytic converter over summer. Could that potentially be the reason for the problem I'm having if the cat is clogged? That only makes sense to me if I was having issues with the SC belt on AND off though, but I could easily be wrong.

Re: Severe engine shake, but only when...

This last summer, my dad and I put ACDelco spark plugs, MSD ignition coils and Belden spark plug wires in the car. Before 2-3 weeks ago, we never had a single problem related to the engine shaking. We also replaced the front engine mount over summer. We haven't done anything to the car related to ...

Severe engine shake, but only when...

My car is a 2000 Bonneville SSEi.

I only have a problem with the engine shaking when the supercharger belt is on and I really step on the gas. I can slowly accelerate just fine, but when I punch it, the engine shakes a lot and the car doesn't pick up speed.

I originally thought the SC belt may ...

Re: HUGE battery voltage drop right before my eyes!

Thank you all for the replies.

I pulled this current battery out of another vehicle. We had just gotten the battery less than a month ago and it was completely fine in the other vehicle which is why I am hesitant to believe that the battery is at fault. I pulled each fuse/relay/wharever-else under ...

Re: HUGE battery voltage drop right before my eyes!

The battery is good. It was at 11.4v because it was connected for a couple days already before this happened. It started out at 12.5v when it was fully charged. This slow drain has been the case in at least 3 batteries I've had in the Bonne from other cars.

I'm just not sure what caused this huge ...

HUGE battery voltage drop right before my eyes!

I went out to the car to see where my battery voltage was (as I'm still dealing with a mystery battery drain). I connect my multimeter to the battery and it was sitting around 11.4xx volts with the door open and the interior lights on. I then close the door and wait for the lights to go out but they ...

Re: Engine shuts off well driving

Rabbito, If possible, swap the camshaft position sensor. When it malfunctions, one symptom is the car cutting off intermittently. The same thing was going on with my 2000 LeSabre up until a few weeks ago. I swapped the sensor and the car hasn't cut off since. Just remove the coolant reservoir to ...

Re: Which stock radio do I have?

Okay, I am now officially at a loss! I let the car sit since Sunday (so about 3 days) and was about to start it 5 minutes ago, but I noticed that the door lights didn't come on when I opened the driver door. (Mind you, ever since Sunday I left the radio in but left the amp maxifuse disconnected.) So ...

Re: Which stock radio do I have?

Thanks haro1225. I still wanna try to get back up to the junkyard before I leave for college since I know I can get the amp for real cheap, but if I can't make it, I may contact Andrew.

Thanks a lot Archon!

Re: Which stock radio do I have?

Gotcha. I went to the junkyard today to try to get an amp, but it started pouring down and I didn't get it. Plus the trunk was filled with water so it was really hard reaching all the way in there trying to get the amp loose. I hope to give it another go before I leave for college in a couple weeks ...

Re: Which stock radio do I have?

Alright, I have some interesting new findings. I decided to check the car out now and it's a good thing I did since it's really quiet outside right now (more on that in a bit).

Firstly, with the radio still out of the car, I pulled the RAP relay, and amp maxifuse. Absolutely no change in battery ...

Re: Which stock radio do I have?

maybe there is a problem with the amp, just for giggles, try disconnecting that fuse and see what happens to your battery.
Can I do this with the radio already disconnected (as it is now), and just test the battery before and after pulling the amp fuse? If there's no change in voltage, I wouldn't ...

Re: Which stock radio do I have?

What makes you think it is causing the battery drain?

Ever since I had the car, the battery would drain after no more than maybe 10 hours. I took it to an auto electrical specialist and he determined it was the radio. I had suspected the radio was the issue after reading around online but my ...

Dang it! I guess I have to either go that route or drive without a radio for a while. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Thanks for clearing that up though!

Re: Which stock radio do I have?

Hmm. I guess I should've mentioned that the screen doesn't work. #-o

I saw this video after posting. Could I just follow this procedure to get the replacement radio working, or would I still need a Tech II?

Which stock radio do I have?

I have a 2000 SSEi I bought used, so I would assume I have the stock Bose radio, BUT it doesn't say 'Bose' anywhere on it (just Delphi Delco Electronics). Is that normal? :dontknow: The amp and speakers are Bose.

Also, I was dealing with battery drain issues and I found the radio to be the culprit ...

GM07b harness - Does it work with 2000 SSEi (Bose system)?

Did any of you install this with your aftermarket head unit with Bose system? Do all the speakers play correctly? Here's a link to the harness:

Re: VIDEO: How to change fuel sending unit

Quick update:

Had my dad hold a T15 driver on the metal shaft while I tapped at it. Came right out on the replacement piece and the one from in my car (maybe I was hitting it wrong when I tried it on my own before?). The lock ring was completely rusted and took forever to get off, so that sucked. I ...
