Re: Body Clips

No, I'm trying to figure out how the actual molding attaches to these clips - and how to remove the molding from a car.

Body Clips

Hi everyone,

Long story short, I need to remove and replace the exterior body paneling on my '99 SE. Does anyone know how to interact with the body moulding clips (P/N: 25630329) seen below?

Thanks in advance...

Re: Low and High Voltage

I discovered the issue to be my aftermarket keyless entry/car alarm unit that I installed several years ago. I guess after several years, one of the leads (I believe the one running to the "On" position sensor for the ignition - the pink wire under the dash) developed a short, which is why there was ...

Re: Low and High Voltage

Update: just had the electrical system checked at an auto parts store. Their device measured the battery at 12.38V with the car off, and the battery at 14.4V with the car running/under load.

On my way home, I used my turn signal to merge into the highway, and the voltage drop was so severe that my ...

Re: Noise While Accelerating

I simply thought it was the torque strut mount (TSM) because it was under the car, on the passenger side, which is where the noise was coming from.

I just checked the TSM, and I could easily wiggle it. Should it be that loose?

It's too late now, but I'll post a video of the rocking engine ...

Low and High Voltage

Hi everyone,

I have a bit of a head scratcher here. The other day, my '99 threw a "Check Gages" light when I used my turn signal. Oddly enough, the in-dash voltmeter dropped way down into the red (~9 V) when I first switched on my turn signal (including messing with the speedometer needle), and ...

Noise While Accelerating

Hi everyone,

My '99 is making this odd rattling type of noise when I accelerate (usually from a stop).

https://youtu.be/rElf5aFvlFs

In this video, the sound happens at about 5 seconds, and this is a brief example. Sometimes it can continue for several seconds, and happen at different ...

Re: Tons of Data Requiring Analysis (Emissions/Misfire Relat

RESOLVED: Swapping the plugs and wires cured my rough start/idle problem. Thank you all for your help.

However, I'm still getting poor gas mileage (lucky to get 19 mpg despite almost all highway miles). I can see some coolant that has leaked out from between the UIM and LIM, and is pooling in ...

Re: Tons of Data Requiring Analysis (Emissions/Misfire Relat

@MKMike, wow - how'd you know they were Bosch plugs??? I wasn't aware that Bosch plugs were of such stellar quality - I should've known something was up when they had a mail-in rebate that made the plugs only cost ~$3/each. #-o

I guess I'll start with swapping the plugs with ACDelco's and assess ...

Re: Tons of Data Requiring Analysis (Emissions/Misfire Relat

Thanks for the replies - keep 'em coming!

Matt, thanks for the recommendation - I like the logic and troubleshooting path associated with it (e.g. If it's not "A", then try "B", if it's not "B", then try "C"...)

Bobc, I'll check the coil packs if the plugs and wires check out okay. Is the only way ...

Re: Tons of Data Requiring Analysis (Emissions/Misfire Relat

Thanks for the reply, MattStrike

Okay, I'll check the plug gap as I just did a quick search and 1 Amazon review stated that the factory gaps can be way out of spec. If that's the case, what should the nominal gap be? 0.060 in?

Tons of Data Requiring Analysis (Emissions/Misfire Related)

Hi everyone,

Sorry for the hiatus since my last post - I've been finishing undergrad, and now I'm married and a graduate student!

Anyways, time to get to Pontiac Bonneville Club related talk...

My beloved Bonneville now has over 82k miles on it, and with it, some issues...

Earlier this summer I ...

Re: CB Radio

Gotcha...and did mounting it directly underneath the ashtray/cupholder impede the movement of that tray? And did you mount through the fascia/plastic trim?

Re: CB Radio

Personally, I can't attest to how frequently the CB is used anymore other than by truckers and etc., but my roommates who have them on their Jeeps say they still get their fair share of use these days, although still not as popular as the "Golden days."

My main reason is because I'm on the road a ...

CB Radio

Hey all,

I'm looking into getting a CB radio with PA system hooked up to my '99 SE, and having found no forums on the matter I figured I might as well start one...

Just wondering if anyone has experience with CB transceivers and/or antennas, and would know of any good mounting locations and any ...

Exhaust Upgrade

Hey all,

So I've been searching the forum for a while, but can't seem to find a good thread, so I figured I'd start this one:

I have a '99 SE, and am looking to get a better exhaust note with it. I want something a little louder that'll turn some heads, but I don't want something obnoxious, and ...
